iWatch 7 receive calls on watch when iPhone is off or not available?
I understand this can be done. How do you make it work on an iWatch 7. The iWatch app on the iPhone is asking for a user name and password. Why?

@dwill05 The watch will make calls with your number when not connected to the phone.

ATT is my mobile service and the iWatch is asking me to log in with my ATT account.
The iPhone is registered with AT&T,

Doesn't make any difference. Call Apple. It could be that the cellular (freebird) version of the AppleWatch needs to be in close proximity of the iPhone, otherwise it will need to log into AT&T each time if you are using it when the iPhone is out of range or off.

I don’t believe you can make or receive phone calls on an Apple Watch unless you’re connected to Wifi or using FaceTime. The SIM in an Apple Watch so equipped is for data only and won’t work for making phone calls over the cellular network like a cell phone. It needs to be connected to a cell phone to be used for normal calling.
