Preorders are never guaranteed on release date. If shipping numbers that are coming out online are true the phone is going to be hard to get till 2018.

It is first come, first serve, but with online and in store orders, it could reach thousand per minute and the websites could be so overloaded that you may not get your order through for days. It is all a matter of luck.
In previous releases, people that got their orders through the first day, still had to wait a couple of months to get the size and color that they ordered.
