Iphone unlock problem

Hello community,

I've bought Iphone (in poland) and its blocked to AT&T. Seller told me its prepaid phone but when I try to unlock it says -

"The device you want to unlock is active on another AT&T account".

What I can i do now? I have all seller details like USA numbers, name, etc.

There is nothing you can do. Only the account owner can remove it from their account and ATT will not provide that information.

Really? Even if owner is no longer ATT member? How do it wihout account?

What about sites that offer phone unlock?

The seller wasn’t necessarily the account owner.

What about sites that offer phone unlock?

Use them at your own risk.

Have the seller unlock it.  If it’s legit, they should be able to unlock it for you.  If not, try to get your money back.

But someone selling an iPhone in Poland and not knowing it’s locked and therefore not usable seems unlikely.

Hi qiktor! Let's address your iPhone device unlock request!

What the ACE members stated is correct, the account owner should reach out to us to unlock the AT&T device. If the reseller is a former customer, we'll still be able to unlock the device as long as the account information is still in our system.

Please check out more information regarding device unlock requests, the eligibility requirements and eBay and non AT&T Purchases.

We hope this is helpful! Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!
