IPhone SE, Carrier locked

I bought a IPhone off of somebody and they didnt inform me that the carrier was locked and ive looked it up abd it says i have to contact the carrier and request them yo unlock it but im not 100% sure who the carrier is.

You can look in settings - general -about and see what the listed carrier is.  If you need to unlock a phone locked to AT&T you have to request an unlock online.

If the phone isn’t eligible for unlocking, you’ll have to get the seller to unlock it, or try and get your money back.

ATT can only verify whether it’s locked to ATT. Go ahead and put in an unlock request, it doesn’t cost you anything.

@dwill05 Will it? The carrier lock will only show whether there are sim restrictions and if the phone were factory reset before being sold, as it should have been, there wouldn’t be anything in the carrier section, would there?

@sandblaster  You’re making an assumption.  It costs absolutely nothing to look and see if there is a carrier listed.  If there is nothing there, then there’s nothing there, but it doesn’t hurt to look.
