iPhone 8 Not Connecting and Dropping Calls

I have a 2 year old  iPhone 8 which is taking forever to connect calls.  Sometimes the calls connect, most times they connect with a weird sounding ring tone and the person on the other line cannot hear me.  Sometimes the calls start out fine and suddenly the person on the other end can no longer hear me. At times "No Service" is displayed in the upper left hand corner instead of AT&T, my connectivity and the wireless symbol.

Have you tried Wi-Fi Calling? Does the same connectivity concerns happen?

Sorry for the delay in responding, thanks for the reply Vincent. I already checked the network status in my area; no problems reported at this time.  No, I have never used Wi-Fi calling but will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.  Also changed my cellular settings which I hope will help.
