iPhone 7 and iOS 10: Let's Chat About It

iPhone Launch.PNG

 Hello Community!

As you all have heard by now, the iPhone 7 is coming Smiley Happy.  As a lifelong iPhone user, I always look forward to these launches.  As part of the Community team though, this is my first time being able to have a great discussion with all the other fans out there.  I wanted to start this thread to be able to get the community together and make this the best iPhone launch ever!

For those that are curious, my name is Tim and I have been with AT&T for 17 years now.  You might know me from such handles as @ATTMobilityCare and @ATTTimCS.  I actually started when I was 19, and still see myself as 19, not 36 Smiley Happy.  I am an avid gamer, and love technology.  My other big passions are movies and my daughters.  I have turned them both into gamers at this point lol.  We have iPhones and iPads throughout the house so these OS updates and device launches are pretty exciting around our house.

What are you most excited for?  Have you already preordered?  I will try and be a pretty active participant in the discussion and answer questions and concerns when I can.  With that said, I also want this to be a great place where other fans can talk and share their thoughts!

See below for some of the most helpful links and let’s get started.

Thanks so much,

Tim, AT&T Community Specialist

Greetings Tim, I was very excited about the launch of IPhone 7. Currently my wife and I are eligible for upgrades. We are uverse tv+ Internet customers and have our bill combined. I have been a customer for 5 years and on my parent's plan before for 10+ years have always loved AT&T wireless. We have iPhone 5s and 5c phones and currently have been left out of the promotions to move up to the 7.... When we checked around at the various AT&T stores we felt they didn't care about us as customers and were very turned off by the experience.... Our bill goes up by 40 to 50 dollars a month to upgrade... I never in my wildest dreams thought I would go to Verizon but if we don't get any help, the 400 dollar per phone trade in helps keep our bill the same as what we currently pay now and an extra Gb of data plus new iPhone 7's. Please help if you are able is much rather stay but money is money.

Hi @DB3324332

First and most importantly, thank you so much for being a longtime customer.  In this day and age it's so easy to switch between carriers, so loyalty goes a long way.  As far as any potential discounts or assistance with promos, I would probably recommend sending us a private message @ATTMobilityCare.  You can include your name, contact number, wireless number, and a good time to call you.  Also include your request or any other pertinant details.  We can do an analyses of your account to see if there is anything we can do.

Thanks so much!

This is probably the most asked question. I've been with AT&T for over 13 years now probably another 20 years throughout my career move where is was available. Here's my issue, I've been using apples iPhone since he 3GS mostly used Apple Store after the iPhone were sold and used with other carriers. Last Friday, like a lot of folks did, I woke up at 3 am, like I normally do for apple launches. Instead of using Apple Store like I've done years after year, I tried something different, I used AT&T on line to order. I had secured 2 black iPhones 7 plus by est 03:30 and got a visual conformation that they'd be delivered on the 16th. At around 1230 that day I receive to confirmations with shipping dates of 23-30 sep. what happen to my order between 0330 and 1230. They've had a status of preparing to ship since the 10th. Ive Calle and a CS rep told me the were in a warehouse getting prepared. Can someone from AT&T hierarchy answer my question? This is the First time since the 3GS I'm not getting the iPhone on the launch day? WHY? Dan, from vine grove ky.

I tried IOS 10.0.1 for the last 5 days and reverted to 9.3.5 yesterday. IOS 10 has a few problems (if not on the iPhone 7) that are , for me, showstoppers. The main things are 1) It takes an extra GB of space. I have an iPad mini 4 with 16G and don't have an extra GB of space without deleting something I want to use.  and 2) IOS 10 uses almost double the amount of battery (or increases battery drain two-fold) at least on non-iPhone7 devices.

I've read the same complaints from 100's of other users, so it's not just my device, or not just me, and I'm sure plenty of people would say "It uses less battery and blah blah". That's my experience.

All resolved in 9.3.5.

Apple with att do great updating the systems as well as their hardware. I like every thing on my iPhone 7 which has 256GB. In today's world everything is moving forward an aggressive momentum. I'm 60 yrs young and look forward to the new technology every year. The first pc had 10MBs and did the job for that time. As technology changes, so must we. 16gb is not a lot of space in today's world. Speed and accuracy are what the majority want, we have to keep up with it. IOS 10 is good, I've been using it for awhile, I am involved with their public beta program. It the best yet. The public got over 7 updates and I'm sure the developers had more. Apple rolled it out and fixed everything I reported. Another good news story, the iPhone 7. A beautiful creation that made for us, easy to use the technology has moved us forward. Kudos to apple. I'm on a iPhone 7, really wanted a 7 plus but there was a big demand. Every year I get a new phones as well as iPads. I just a user that looks forward to there produce every year.

@PamsMakingMemor

It looks like the iPhone 7 (iOS 10) hasn't been added to the supported devices for the app as of yet.  However, I did confirm with our internal support team that it is in fact supported.  We are working on updating the website as we speak, but you can use the app Smiley Happy

Thanks
