iPhone 6s Plus Shipping dates

Why is iPhone 6s Plus shipinng dates are Oct 16 - Oct 23 ? While on the Apple.com it shows delivers 25th... I already ordered from premier site, since I had no choice as I dont have ATT Next and do not wish to move to it. But why is the ship dates are so far out for the 6s Plus via ATT ?

I really hope it changes, but I have a bad feeling about this.....

There are at least three ways to check shipping status.  The status wording varies but the status is the same.  "Preparing to Ship" = "In Progress."

 

IIRC, the best way to determine that an order is getting close to shipment is when the customer's credit card shows a pending charge (different from authorized).

I ordered on 9/12

Today talked with Customer Support abt this shipping issue, Heres the answer I got 

 

"UPON CHECKING, FOR ALL IPHONE 6S PLUS, IT WILL BE DELIEVERED FOR 25-30 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE PRE-ORDER DATE COMPARED TO THE IPHONE 6S WHICH WILL BE DELIVERED FROM THE LAUNCH DATE UP UNTIL 15-20 DAYS FROM THE PRE-ORDER DATE"

Service rep confirmed again that they are following Apple's Committment dates and its sure that 6S PLUS wont be delivered on September 25th .

 

Looks like that shipping on 10/16-23 is true, They wont ship early. 

while ordering rep told it will arrive on September 25th , seems like we were fooled by AT&T

Well that really sucks , but that is the case just for AT&T because when i logged into the apple store it said the shipping was going to be on the 25th . In any case this sucks. What is the point of preordering then?

I called again,chat with another rep, all are saying for Iphone 6S Plus the shipping date is October 16-23 , So anyone who had ordered and still believe it will arrive by Septmber 25, Please check again and confirm your shipping details

I am going to cancel my order.

If I were you i would not do that just yet. Keep in mind too that they charged your credit card already. Aren't they not supposed to charge the card until the phone is ready for shipment? I know for a fact that APPLE does not charge your card if an item has not shipped out or is in backorder. From the numerous conversations that i've had with the customer reps and on their chats, they do not seem to know what is going on, some have said that they will ship out on sept 25th others in Oct but noone is certain, but i think the point I am trying to make is that they SHOULDN'T charge your card if the order is not ready to ship . A month without those funds for a phone you will not get for a while is not good! . Please lets alll check again and again until they give us an answer

Sorry for previous wrong info, it seems my card has not been charged, i had two different order and the charge came from previous order. Sorry again for wrong info.

Yeh, I talked again with order specialist and she also told that date 10/16-23 is system generated date as they dnt have phone avaialble in their warehouse yet, there is possibility that phone would be available on time or may get till October, She wants me to re-check again around 20-23 to get more information.

I  understand. I am going to wait a few days and see what turns out and if there any news about the shipments. I will not be happy if they charged my card and I have to wait a month for it.

The charge might just be an autorization to make sure they can get that amount. Apple and ATT Point of Sale systems might work diffrently and thats why the deffrence. In eather case, I`m starting to really think we are stuck waiting till October.... 

 

Either Apples or ATT fault doesn’t really matter to me the end consumer, who was lead to believe that by pre-ordering the phones will arrive on launch day, and only after the 3am EST order placement was made aware that phones won’t be available on launch date. This to me is just spit in a face, even if it is Apples fault, I pay ATT and woke up to order from ATT, if I had a choice in the matter I would order from Apple.com, but that choice was not present....

I wanted to order from Apple like I always have but they removed the 2 year agreement and just the NEXT program is available which for me does not work . I understand they should make an authorization on the credit card but not post the charge until the phone has shipped out. I do not care who dropped the ball but I am not letting them get away with charging me for something that i am not going to get in a month or so.

According to Apple:

 

"As many customers noticed, the online demand for iPhone 6s Plus has been exceptionally strong and exceeded our own forecasts for the preorder period. We are working to catch up as quickly as we can, and we will have iPhone 6s Plus as well as iPhone 6s units available at Apple retail stores when they open next Friday.”

 

So, it's good to know people can walk into the Apple store to pick them up next Friday while we wait a month! LOL!

I mean really what is the point of pre ordering it if it comes out a month after everyone else gets it. Are we better off on going into the apple store and buying it directly from them. It seems apple is trying to make people buy it directly from them. Look with what they did with the apple watch and you could only buy it from them up untill recently.

Im tired already of trying to speak to an AT&T rep, is just a waste of time. According to them there is nothing I can do and I have to either wait until Oct 16 or cancel the order. I simply do not understand how can a company get away with this, their preorder methods i just can't understand. I thought it was a first come first served but apparently not. I am starting to hear too that they do not have any inventory on hand and they have to wait until apple gives them the update of how many phones they can provide. The problem is with the plus series, the regular 6s apparently they have plenty of inventory both from apple and directly from AT&T. Seems like they were not counting on the demand of the 6s Plus .

Isnt the purpose of a preorder to gurantee it at the release date. The best thing to do is go to your local AT&T store on release day and go and see if they have any in stock. You know they are not going to have a big line. They never do. It seems our pre orders where just away for AT&T to make money. I know that Apple does not charge your credit card until they are ready to send out the item.

that is another reason why I am very dissapointed. They already made the charge on my card and the rep is telling me is just an authorization and I kept telling them that is not the case since in my bank is showing as paid not temporary charge. How the heck are they going to charge for something if they are not even close to shipping? Seriously ? I wish there was something we can all do to push them to give us answers but at this point I'm clueless

It seems rather random between what status people got. Preparing To Ship, vs In Progress. Notible diffferences, In Progress, customers got a text message, Sunday evening.

 

My card was charged $1 instantly at order time. That is AT&T's validation.

 

My card was charged $474, by 7/8AM SAT (my CC thought it was fraud) So in that case it is the real deal. It's a real charge, not just authorisation or hold. I can't imagine my CC freaking out about an intent to charge at a future date.

 

I agree with some of you, if you are charged, then the product is ready to ship. Why would AT&T place a hold or authorization, 30 days in advance, the CC could be maxed out or otherwise canced before delivery etc. It's best for both parties to wait until shipment is ready. Just saying, I don't really know, but considering the logic of the process.
