Iphone 6s Plus Lock Status
I bought my Iphone 6S plus in Texas last March 27. I didn't try testing it that time because literally I'm in a hurry. When I was ready to set up my phone, i used a carrier sim from the Philippines but it says that the sim is not supported. I thought that when a phone is not under a plan contract with the original carrier it should be used freely using any kind of carrier sim. I've also check my IMEI code status under AT&T and it says that my phone is clean. all features were active, of course other than that the find my phone status was off. I don't understand why cant i use a different carrier sim. But for the record, I didn't set up my phone yet. I badly need your assistance regarding this. Thank you.

Hi there @yieksel!
Thank you for joining us in the Community Forums! I will definitely be able to assist you further on this carrier SIM situation. You are indeed correct the phone, if not under any contract, can be unlocked to use a non AT&T SIM card for services.
As long as the device was never activated on our network, and it has been past the 14 day buyers remorse purchase period, you can submit an Device Unlock Request. To submit a unlock request, please click here. For complete details, please click here.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

@yieksel There might be some issues activating that iPhone the first time you set it up if you are outside the US.
It sounds like you possibly/might be past that step already, but I'm not certain?
(Confused if you are in the Philippines or if you are just using a SIM from there)

@yieksel Did you submit a request to unlock the phone as ATTCares suggested? You were given the links. Approved? If not, why not?

We're unable to approve your request because the IMEI number provided doesn't match a device that's currently on the AT&T network.
To make sure you have the correct information, recheck the IMEI number by dialing *#06# or check the device settings.
How can i possibly do that if i cant set up my phone. 😞
