iPhone 14 pro poor cellular reception
Got an Apple iPhone 14 pro. Unfortunately AT&T cellular service is pretty poor on it and I’m not the only one with this complaint. My iPhone 12 Pro had better cellular service as does my husband’s current iPhone 12 Pro. Maybe it’s the esim but AT&T needs to up its game

Are you using the same service provider as you did with your iPhone 12? No service provider provides great service everywhere. If you were previously with a different service provider and had better service, then you shouldn't have switched providers. And since all providers are offering phone deals, there was no reason to switch providers
AT&t is probably not able to make any improvements in your area. If you are within 14 days, return the phone and switch your service provider to one that provides better service in your location

Haven’t changed providers. Had AT&T for decades. My husband has AT&T service with Apple iPhone 12. He has better cellular reception when we are right next to each other. It’s not the phone—Apple ran diagnostics—it’s AT&T. Other people are having the same issue

That makes no sense. Two phones on the same network, one gets better reception than the other, how is that the network’s fault? Sure sounds like a phone issue to me. Ever consider the possibility the 14’s antenna isn’t as good as the 12’s? That sure wouldn’t be ATT’s fault.

How can it be AT&T? If two phones right next to each other in the same place, same provider, same time, one being an iPhone 12 and the other being a 14, and the 12 gets a stronger signal, how can AT&T be doing this? Is the tower sending a special low powered signal that only affects people with iphone 14s? How is that even possible? Maybe the 14 doesn’t have as good of a reception as the 12. Are both phones in cases? Maybe the 14 case blocks the signal more that the 12 case. Are both phones using the same signal (5G vs. LTE)? It just doesn’t make sense that AT&T is doing something that drops reception on the 14, but not on the 12. ESIM vs. physical SIM shouldn’t make a difference either. All a SIM does is authorize a connection to the cellular network. It doesn’t control signal strength.

🙄.
Not logical. Either your phone is defective or the 14 has worse hardware than the 12. In either case, it's Apple's fault.
With the iPhone 14?
But the iPhone 12 works fine?
How is it NOT the phone?
Convince us....
You seem to have convinced yourself that Apple could not possibly have produced a faulty device. And yet everything you have written convinces us that is exactly what they have done.

Hello there @AppleFan80, we're here to help improve your device's connection to our network.
There are a lot of reasons why a wireless connection would vary between phones in the same area. It may be due to congestion, dead-zones, or like our ACE @dwill05 mentioned, the material around the phone. Metal within a home can weaken a wireless signal, and a thicker case can mean the phone inside is receiving a weaker signal.
We have some troubleshooting tips you can use as well, to help improve your device's connection:
Please let us know how this goes, so we can troubleshoot further if needed.
