Insurance/What does it cover?

I got my Iphone 6 Plus wet at the beach last week and now it will not turn on. I bought insurance with the phone when I got it. My questions are, does insurance cover water damage? Do I bring the device to AT&T to get it replaced or do I take it to the Apple Store?

I have no experience with insurance but the web page says you should have a replacement phone on 1-2 business days. I expect they'll get back to you very quickly.
