I moved to Germany from US and need my iPhone 6 unlocked
My wife and I were recently moved to Germany and we did not unlock our phones before we came. Now we need our phones unlocked to use the carriers here. I was on an AT&T plan with my phone at first, then when I paid my iPhone 6 off, I switched to a gophone (now AT&T prepaid). Not sure if switching to a gophone means my phone was automatically unlocked somehow. I also don't know how to tell if my phone is unlocked already. And I'm not sure if AT&T can help me if I find a way to call back to the US considering I'm already in Germany. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, switching to gophone will probably make it more difficult to get your phone unlocked. To get your phone unlocked, you need to put in a request here: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/. Since you paid off your phone, it would qualify to be unlocked. However, by putting in a gophone sim, you have likely triggered the gophone requirement to have 6 months paid gophone usage. If you have had 6 months, no problem, but if not your request will be denied. If your request is denied, you should be able to get an exception to the 6 month requirement by contacting @ATTCares via private message.
