I filled out an sim unlock form and I was denied ??? HELP

this is an emergency. Basically I woke up and my phone wouldn’t turn on anymore, I’ve tried to plug it in into everything and it’s just gone for. My father gave me his old phone but the SIM card is unlocked and I want to put my working and already paid SIM card in, but it says sim not approved or supported. I filled out a form hoping that would clam my anxiety and worries but it said I was denied. I put in all the correct information I could. I’m new to this, I’m doing everything I can. I can not afford a new phone at the moment and I need it for work and school.

***********
please get back to me real soon, I’m exhausted and I’ve done everything I could and none of the support chats are helping. Please. Fix my phone ! Thank you :(

  • Account is not past due if less than 30 days.

You can submit a request a device unlock using the link:  https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/. Once you submit the request, we will review the details and help you further with unlocking the device. if you are facing any difficulties, try clearing cookies and cache and try again. If the request is denied, please share us the reason so we can shed more light on that.

Not enough information.

The phone has to be sold by and locked by AT&T for AT&T to unlock it.

If it does not meet the eligibility requirements, AT&T will deny the unlock.  It would have been helpful if you had posted what response came with the denial.

Are you saying that you requested an unlock and were denied?

https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/

If so, what was the reason for the denial?  A phone is either eligible for unlocking or it isn’t.  If the IMEI isn’t in the unlocking database, then the online unlocking portal won’t work.  You would have to call them to manually research the IMEI,  but unless you’re the individual who had the phone on an account with AT&T, they probably won’t help you.

I already did the device unlock and I was denied, I need to privately message someone, immediately who can help.

Hi @Wheresmax,

We hear you and want to help you.

The Community Forums are a public support option where other users, and AT&T, will try and assist with high level support needs. This means we won’t be able to look into account specific concerns.  To get the help you need for your unique issue, please review our Contact Us page (https://www.att.com/support/contact-us/), and choose the best option to reach out to us.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media, and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  If you feel your issue isn’t account specific, and can be answered generally, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you,
Jessica , AT&T community specialist.

The official response from AT&T is above.  All they will do is tell you to contact them.  They aren’t going to reach out to you or private message you,  no matter how much drama is implied.  You’ve stated that you tried the unlocking portal, and got denied, but haven’t said the reason for denial.  As a note, phones are either eligible for unlocking, or they are not.  Using words like emergency or immediately doesn’t change whether or not a phone gets unlocked.
