I am living in another country and how can I unlock my device?
Hi to All,
I am living in Turkey and I bought my phone in a local store without carrier lock. I used this phone for almost 3 years and when I reset my phone I faced carrier lock. When I check situtation with Apple they told me that carrier could remove device lock. But when I check with my imei there is a problem about payment I guess first owner of the phone didn't paid his bills. I don't know how can I solve my problem. If I can use an at&t sim card I can unlock device but here in Turkey we don't have :(

It doesn’t matter whether you know who the person is or not. Only that person who had the account can pay it off, not someone else. The reason your phone was working for a while and then locked after an update was that the phone was hacked to be unlocked and updating the software removed the hack. You won’t be able to unlock the phone via AT&T.

Unfortunately AT&T cannot help you. Only the person who originally purchased the phone can pay it off.
