Dear sir/madam,

Few days before my cousin brought me from the US a brand new iPhone XR. I live in Greece, so a strange thing happened. When I inserted my SIM card from a local carrier it appeared a message that said “NO VALID SIM”. When I tried to unlock the device via your site, the following message appeared:

Looks like this device is lost or stolen so we can't unlock it. If you think this is a mistake call 800.331.0500 or 611 from your mobile phone for help.

I don't think my cousin is a thief, though. Is there any chance that he may have any unpaid bill and thus the carrier is locked? Could you please help me with this issue?  I hope you take my application into consideration and let me know what is happening.  I apologize for my bad English.

Thank you for your time.

this is a customer forum and at&t will not see your request, however i do know that you will never get it unlocked are be able to use it only the person that reported it lost or stolen can get it of f the list, its really just an expensive paperweight now.your cousin may not be a thief but the person he bought it from could be. even if it was brand new sealed in a box , a brand new phone being stolen is not unheard of and happens quite often.alot of times it also passes through many hands once its found stolen like the person your cousin bought it from probably found out it was useless and he sold it to your cousin to make his money back

The IMEI is ***. I tried att.com/unlock but the system said my phone isn't ATT phone.

3 possibilities.  1.   It’s not locked to At&t.  2.  It’s never been used on At&t so the IMEI isn’t registered in the portal.    3. It was used, but long enough ago so it's been purged.

Call Apple and verify it is actually locked to At&t.

Then holler back when you have an answer

AT&T refused to connect me with advanced tech support, even thought I have service for 2 years and paid off my phone, I was forced to have service with AT&T again as a pre-paid phone.

Now, AT&T say all pre-paid phones must be inservice for at least 6 months!

How do I file a complaint with FCC? thanks

I paid off my iPhone X today to give to my niece who has t mobile. I went to unlock the device with the link i was given through at&t but when i put in the imei code I’m given the message saying that that imei isn’t connected to an at&t phone, when it is. I’m currently at a loss as for what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

My equipment was reported lost. This is the equipment sent by my friends and friends when I went abroad. It cannot be used normally after returning home. The inquiry was reported lost. I want to ask what should I do. I want to unlock my equipment and provide IMEI

If the phone was reported lost or stolen, it cannot be unlocked.

If your friends sent you the phone, you should probably take it up with them why it's reported as lost/stolen.

I contacted my friend and did not report it. Maybe someone else maliciously reported it missing or you can inquire about what is wrong with my contract. I can provide the phone number and IMEI code. I don't know whether these two numbers are matched. I really want to solve my problem through the official. Do you have any good suggestions

If you want to handle this through official channels, you'll need to contact AT&T Support, most likely through chat.

I hope you get everything figured out
