How to change APN?

I recently bought a SIM card from Mobal (a Japanese data company) since I'm going abroad in a couple days, and when I downloaded the APN settings while checking out/activating that card, my ATT one now doesn't seem to want to work anymore. I've got full bars and I can call people (not text) but it wont connect to the internet unless I'm on Wi-Fi.

I've gone thru multiple days of replacing my ATT SIM card (haven't put in Mobal card since issue began) and spending hours on end with ATT support, but the one thing I haven't tried out yet is changing my APN. When messing with the Mobal card, it had me download APN settings, and I thought that both the Mobal and ATT card settings would work simultaneously, but I have a theory that my phone is stuck on the Mobal settings (which are based in Japan and not the US).

However, my cellular settings don't give me the option of changing any APN settings, even though my phone (iPhone 11) from what I've read online says I should be able to do so. Is anyone able to help me out with changing these settings from the Mobal card settings to the ATT ones?

Have you clicked on "reset all network settings" with AT&T SIM installed?

APN should be automatic with sim installed

Where are you located when you try to download the AT&T APN settings?  Are you doing this while in the US, or in Japan?

I'm in the US doing this, and I have reset network settings multiple times and am still unable to see the ANP settings. I'm not sure how to download the ATT APN settings if its supposed to be done manually outside of the SIM card.

Hi there @wiccke, we're here to assist with your APN settings.

We understand the impact on staying connected! Here’s How to set up the access point name (APN) to get you going again.

If you have an:

  • LTE device: Set your settings to NXTGENPHONE.
  • Data device: Set your settings to Broadband.
  • 5G Smartphone: Set your settings to Enhancedphone.

Make sure you double check the spelling of your APN setting.

You also want to make sure your device is listed on our devices compatible with AT&T's network list. If your device is not listed, we do recommend upgrading to one that is.

Let us know how this works for you. We look forward to your response.

Yea that's the issue though, there isn't an option for me to view/manage APN settings. I've gone thru the cellular section of my settings for hours and there's nothing about using carrier settings or changing APN settings. There's no menu to reset the cellular data network or anything like that.
