Why does an eSIM get a FedEx tracking number? Also you’ve taken my number from visible (doesn’t work; got good bye msg from them; successfully ported email fro Att) and I need to wait until it arrives to connect? Something is messed up with your system.  This chain of events should not be allowable.

@Brandn  Are you waiting on a phone  to be shipped to you?  If so, then the FedEx shipping notice is likely for the phone that the eSIM is in.  For some strange reason AT&T sometimes lists the SIM as a separate item from the phone, even though it’s actually physically already in the phone.

As far as number porting goes, that’s on its own timetable.  Once the port is approved, the previous carrier deactivates your SIM with them.  They don’t check whether you actually have the SIM from the new carrier in hand and ready to go because they have  no way of knowing that.

Also, please edit out your name, order number, and tracking number as that’s personal information.

Thanks.  No I have an unlocked iPhone 13 for which I entered the IMEI and also elsewhere on your website my old phone number, account number and porting pin. This is the same device I have been using. The port was successful, evidently.  Why is the eSIM being physically sent? Should this be electronically sent? This is what I don’t understand. Esim should be immediate.

If you bought a phone from AT&T, it should come with the eSIM already installed on the phone.  You simply have to activate the eSIM when you get the phone.  At least that’s how they used to do it with the physical SIM iphones.

Hi there @Brandn, we're here to help with your eSIM inquiry.

Thank you, @dwill05 for the information provided, that is correct.  While setting up your iPhone over Wi-Fi, your eSIM might download automatically, or you might be prompted to install an AT&T cellular plan.

  1. Make sure your device is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular service.
  2. Go to Settings, then select 'AT&T plan ready to be installed'.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Your eSIM will now download and install.

Let us know how this works for you.
