That would *not* have been a legitimate sale/purchase. AT&T does not sell outside of the United States.  The phone is most surely a stolen phone.

Unfortunately you've been scammed. If you can't get your money back you have a brick, a very heavy iPod

AT&T cannot and will not help you.

Did you do an insurance claim on the phone? If you did, the phone belongs to the insurance company and will not be unlocked or taken off of the blacklist.

If you did not do an insurance claim, you will need to contact AT&T and have them remove the phone from the blacklist.

You have to call AT&T and have them remove it from the blacklist. As long as it was not replaced by insurance, the person that blacklisted it can also unblack list

Unfortunately if the phone was reported lost or stolen, you can not unlock it. Try to get your money back if possible.

Hello @Sameer_lall, thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums. We're happy with steps to unlock your device.

Thank you, @Sameer_lallfor that information. In addition, let us start with few questions.

Please confirm if the device is under your name and do you have IMEI number of the device?

Was the device insured and did you opt for insurance when the your device was lost or stolen?

Thank you to the ACEs for their helpful information!

You can submit a device unlock request online and follow the prompts. Check your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates on your request. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm request in the email we sent you.

It usually takes a few minutes to approve your request, but it could take up to 48 hours. Also, be sure you meet all the device unlock eligibility requirements.

Let us know if this helps, and have any further concerns.

Thank you,

Mike, AT&T Community Specialist

I have an iPhone 14 pro which was lost then I asked for marking this phone as stolen or lost but now I found it and I want to unlock it .

So, this wasn’t entirely true, was it?  You made it sound like you lost the phone, you reported it lost or stolen, and now you found your lost phone.  The reality is that you bought the phone in Pakistan (where AT&T doesn’t sell phones), used and from a third party seller, and when you tried to unlock it, it came back blacklisted for being reported lost and stolen.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do to remove the phone from the blacklist or get it unlocked.

Also, please disregard what ATTHelp wrote.  They are under the impression that you’re an AT&T customer who lost their phone, which you aren’t.

I bought this iPhone locally in Pakistan and it is locked. I contacted the local dealer they say why did not you check the phone before now we can not do anything ( can't help me ). now here at this forum I checked my phone status it shows it was reported lost or stolen and because of this I am unable to forward the request to unlock. I don't know what to do now. I am not able to use my SIM and its such a pain for me. Please help me out @ATTHelp.

One of those times where I wish I'd taken screenshots before the original poster decided to edit and change his story

Dear pants on fire, unless you can produce an original receipt from a valid US original seller like AT&T, or Apple, the phone will remain blacklisted.  AT&T is not going to take your word for it.
