How do I get my new phone to work for phone calls and texts

I just got the Iphone 11 Max pro.

I transferred the data and erased my old phone. But now I can not make call on my new phone and people are getting texts from me by email address.

I tried to activate it on ATT and couldn't find it. When I log into ATT, they want to text me a verification code but I can't recieve it b/c my phone is not recieving texts by the phone number.

  • is your device AT&T branded or unlocked
  • what plan are you currently on, prepaid or postpaid and is the plan active
  • when you try to call out or send a text, what error message comes up
  • also send us your zip code so we can check the towers in your area

Did the new iPhone come with a SIM card? It sounds like you haven’t activated the sim card. You either need to activate the new SIM card or move the SIM card from the old phone. @ATTHelp There is no such thing as an ATT branded iPhone. No iPhones are ATT branded whether locked to ATT or not.
