How do I cut off the notification the app keeps sending me about sharing my location?

The app sends me a notification about every hour asking me to turn in my location. I’m not doing that. I have it set to “Never” in settings but it keeps sending me the notification.

Hi @Chadb75, no worries, we're here to help get this fixed. We're here to help you with the information that you require.

To answer your question, you are getting notifications from the secure family app because you might have set up some alerts for your family members’ locations. These alerts notify you when they arrive at or leave certain places that you have saved on the app, such as school, home, work, etc.

If you want to stop getting these notifications, you can follow these options:

You can turn off the alerts for specific family members or places. To do this, open the secure family parent app, select the saved area you want to edit, choose a family member from the list, and then turn off the Get Notified When you option.

You can turn off the notifications for the entire app in your device settings. To do this, go to your device settings, tap on Notifications, find the secure family app, and then toggle off the Allow Notifications option. However, this will also prevent you from getting other important notifications from the app, such as when your child tries to access a blocked website or app.

Please update the latest version of Secure Family App and turn on background app refresh if you are using iPhone.

Troubleshoot for iPhone:

Launch the Settings app from your Home screen.

Tap on General.

Tap Background App Refresh.

Toggle Background App Refresh to off. The switch will become grayed-out when toggled off.

Troubleshoot for Android:

You may have accidentally turned off either the system notifications or the app’s push notifications. Go to settings and make sure both options are enabled. To enable an app’s notifications, turn on the show notifications trigger. To enable a system’s notifications, make sure that Do not Disturb mode is not enabled.

If you still face the same issue, you can visit our website article AT&T Wireless support for more personalized way to troubleshoot your device.

Let us know if this helps!

What app?  Unless it’s the AT&T app, AT&T doesn’t really have anything to do with it.

Call Apple. It's their device, not AT&T's.  But yeah, it would be helpful to know which app it is. I have an iPhone and I don't get hourly notices to turn on Location Services for a given app. Maybe you launched an app by accident that you don't have Locations Services enabled and it wants you to turn on services so it can work properly.

I thought this chat was only about the secure family app. My bad. The secure family app keeps sending me notifications. I click on it and it just takes me to the Home Screen. I can’t turn off notifications on the entire app in settings or the app is useless. So why am I getting a notification for that app every hour?

Sorry. Being as this was in the Apple sub-group I assumed it was about Apple's apps. Secure Family App is AT&T's thing (which isn't known for making very robust apps) so can't help you there because I have no need for that.
