Green Screen iPhone 12
My daughter’s iPhone 12 suddenly stopped working. The screen turned greenish - she could still see a little bit of the Home Screen through the light green tint…then it went back to normal for a little bit and then back to green…then eventually it went to a black screen and would not power off. The phone is a year old. Never dropped, never exposed to extreme temps.

We'll be happy to guide you in the right direction @locust519.
As the ACE's above have advised, your daughter will probably need to go to an Apple Store for further guidance. If she has insurance on the device and will be back in the States in the near future, you may also wish to file a claim.
Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community.

So is there a question? If the phone is still under warranty, contact Apple. If you have insurance, file a claim. Even if warranty has expired, I would still contact Apple. ATT does not service or repair iPhones.

Check and see if the iPhone is still covered by extended warranty. There is a limited 1 year warranty when you purchased the phone. Did you purchase extended warranty on the phone. Link below on how to check warranty status.

Warranty expired December 20th. Looking to see if anyone has encountered this issue before…My daughter is in college in another country which complicates matters.
I’ve googled it and seems as if this isn’t necessarily the death of the phone so wondering if anyone has been able to fix their issue without sending the phone in for repair or replacement.
i know AT&T doesn’t service devices but since this is a forum and the Device topic was an option, I’m giving it a shot.

Since this issue isn't related to AT&T service, this would be a great question for Apple specific forums or Google. You might even find something on YouTube that addresses the situation if there is a fix. But because AT&T does not provide any repair service this isn't the sort of question that is going to come up on the AT&T forums. In fact I've not seen is in 8 years and I'm on here way to much to have missed it.
And if it did exist as a regular problem it would have been searchable by simply putting green screen into the search bar at the top of the Forum web page.

@locust519 Call Apple and start there. Just have her iPhone serial number information on hand so Apple can look it up.

Is there no apple service centers in other countries? I mean they are sold all over the world so there should be an apple store somewhere

To be fair, it sounds like something is physically wrong with the phone. About all she can do herself is try and reboot the phone, or try restoring the phone, but those things only work if there is a software issue that rebooting or reloading might fix. If it’s a physical hardware defect, there really isn’t any other option than having it repaired. And based on the description of the problem, it sounds like a hardware problem.

@locust519 There were Phone 12s with the green screen problem. you may qualify for a replacement even after the 12 month warranty has elapsed. As @OttoPylot mentioned, call Apple and see if they will furnish a replacement.
Google iPhone green screen problem and how to resolve and see it one of the suggestions help.

Thank you everyone. She is going to an Apple Store in España on Tuesday. She doesn’t return to the states until end of July so we will see how Apple Care works intentionally
