The iPad itself may have been free but to get it you had to agree to a 2 year contract for data service. As stated above, that will add anywhere from $10-$20 plus tax to your monthly bill. If you cancel that before the 2 year contract is complete, there will either be a termination fee or they will bill you for the iPad. There will likely also be an activation fee. If you just got it, you have 14 days to return it but if you do you will likely be charged a restocking fee.

@Emersonwest Return it before the return period is up. If you do the math you can go buy one for cheaper than the costs over 2 years...
