Found out my iphone was att-locked after leaving the US. I no longer have access to the phone number associated.
In May, I bought Iphone SE at an AT&T store in Boston. I was going to buy it for its regular price. But an ATT store worker convinced me to do it on a different deal that included a month of unlimited plan, which overall cost little less. He explained me that it was only an incentive to make me to unlimited plan user long term. I didn't use that number at all.
In mid October, because of family emergency, I left the US to Mongolia and wouldn't come back at least for two years. Is there any way that I can unlock the phone so that I can use it here?
I really love my phone and it (Edited per community guidelines) that it was locked.

Because of the discount you would have been required to pay for prepaid service for six months in order to get the phone unlocked. I'm counting five, maybe four depending on when in May.
Requesting unlock would be denied.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate you taking your time to share your insight and info.
Does it matter if the att worker didn't explain me the terms? I would've bought it on a regular price otherwise. All I was told was the fact that it was giving me incentive to move to unlimited plan long term in exchange for cheaper price.

Unfortunately, no, that won’t matter.
