Do my husband and I need to upgrade at the same time?
My husband and I are on the same plan and are both due for an upgrade. I need a new phone, but he wants to wait. If, I get a new phone, can he upgrade at a later date, or do we have to upgrade at the same time?

You do not have to upgrade at the same time. Please realize upgrade simply means you can buy a phone on an installment plan. There are no 2 year contract discounted phones anymore. You can buy a phone and pay up front at any time and if you buy it from someone other than ATT, you can probably avoid the upgrade fee.

I thought AT&T discontinued subsidized upgrades of smartphones. Are you on a 2 year contract cycle?
