Device unlock

Hi, I got an idevice on ebay from a seller (pawn shop). It turned out to be blacklisted, the seller claims the original owner took finance in exchange and never came back. Original owner apparently reported the device stolen, now i’m left with no way to activate the device. unfortunately, it’s been long i bought the phone and can no longer return and request for refund. please what can be done?
