Hi @Saiteja! A device that was reported lost or stolen will prompt that kind of notification when you submit the device for unlock.

If you are planning to use your AT&T device with another carrier, it has to be unlocked and meet the requirements listed below.  You'll also find information about why your request may have been denied.

General Requirements for All Unlock Requests

  • The device must be designed for use on, and locked to, the AT&T wireless network.
  • It must not be reported lost or stolen.
  • It’s not associated with fraudulent activity.
  • All the device’s service commitments and installment plans are completed, and all early termination fees are paid in full.
  • The device is not currently active on a different AT&T customer’s account.
  • If you performed an early upgrade, you must wait the 14-day buyer’s remorse period before you can request to unlock your previous device.
  • Visit our Unlock Support page for the full requirement list.

All devices claimed as lost or stolen to Asurion are blacklisted by Fraud. Only account holders for the original account used to blacklist a device can lift the restriction on the device.

Visit AT&T Device Unlock Help - Solutions & FAQs for more details. There, you will find additional tips including information for eBay & Non-AT&T Purchases.

Give this a try and let us know how it goes

I tried all the methods earlier itself. There no use at all. Contacted customer care they said we are looking but nothing happened .

If AT&T CS can’t/won’t help, file a FCC complaint to bump it up the management chain.

No worries, ! we're here to help look in to how to lift the fraudulent flag from your device and unlock your phone.

Allow us to invite you into a direct message so we can take a deeper look into your account and discover why you're blocked from the network. Then we can work on getting you back connected to the network.

In the meantime, visit the AT&T Wireless Support webpage and select Get Suggestions. You'll be directed to the Fix an Issue section. From there you will select your device then navigate back to that section and click Connection>Internet. Then allow this tool to troubleshoot your device by following the prompts and you'll be presented with our top personalized solutions.

Don't forget to check your direct message inbox which is the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums.

We look forward to working with you!

I'm trying to unlock a phone, but my request came back denied because they say it supposedly is linked to fraud.  That's a bunch of hogwash.  The phone has never been lost or stolen.  They're not unlocking it because I left ATT for another carrier, and I was an outstanding customer for years.  I will never go back to them no matter what.  They've done me wrong!!!
