Current status - Denied We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account.
Please help!
I tried to unlock my iPhone I used to use while I was on AT&T through the official AT&T unlock page, but it was denied.
This phone satisfied the unlock requirement and I properly chose [NO] for [Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?] option and entered correct the phone's IMEI #, I still getting the below status update.

We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account. Resubmit your request and select Nowhen asked, "Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?”.

I tried multiple times for 2 different iPhones, but I got same results. Here is the one of the unlock request didn't go through... NUL722574827300.
I realized that same incidents were posted in this forum. Please help me unlock my iPhone. Thank you.

I have the same issue with my iPhone. I even tried to use paid services like doctorSIM because I'm not in the US right now, but they also say there is no information about my device being locked. Could someone please help me with unlocking? My IMEI is 352806843715438

If the device is Carrier locked but AT&T no longer has the IMEI in their system then you cannot get the phone unlocked.
Options:
1. You would have to contact AT&T directly with proof of purchase.
2. File an FCC complaint
3. Use AT&T long enough to register, then request unlock.
If you purchased a used AT&T phone outside of the USA thinking that you could unlock it and use it, you may have been scammed. You may have purchased a phone that's locked because it's lost or stolen and blacklisted.

I've already checked if it's blacklisted - and it's not.
Yeah, I really got scammed, because I bought my phone new (not unpacked) and the seller didn't say anything about the carrier lock. Now I have no idea what can I do in my situation. Probably just gonna wait for a response from AT&T on this topic. Everything I have - it's an AT&T SIM card inside the phone which doesn't work in my country at all.
About the FCC complaint, seems like it's can be filled only by US residents because there are a lot of fields like address, state, and others that are related only to the US.
In any case, thank you for your response - @formerlyknownas
