Current status - Denied We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account.

Please help!

I tried to unlock my iPhone I used to use while I was on AT&T through the official AT&T unlock page, but it was denied.

This phone satisfied the unlock requirement and I properly chose [NO] for [Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?] option and entered correct the phone's IMEI #, I still getting the below status update.

Current status - Denied

We can’t unlock your device because it’s no longer active on an AT&T account. Resubmit your request and select Nowhen asked, "Do you have a mobile number from AT&T?”.

*********************************************************************************************************************

I tried multiple times for 2 different iPhones, but I got same results. Here is the one of the unlock request didn't go through...  NUL722574827300.

I realized that same incidents were posted in this forum.  Please help me unlock my iPhone.  Thank you.

There is no requirement for the phone to be active on an ATT account. That is a bogus response that probably means the imei of the phone you are trying to unlock is no longer in ATT’s database. You need advanced tech support to research your imei. Your best option to make that happen is to escalate to corporate by filing an FCC or BBB complaint.

I received an unlock code from MS, but it was unsuccessful. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I am currently waiting for a new code. I confirmed that the IMEI number was correct. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I inserted a non-ATT SIM card and entered the 16-digit numerical code, but it still displayed "Sim Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful". Is there a specific method for entering the unlock code that I am missing?

@JunaNougsot  What phone are you talking about?  iPhones don’t use an unlock code that you enter.  iPhones unlock via Apple’s servers.

@JunaNougsot

You hijacked someone else's thread in the Apple section, Apple iPhones do not have codes for unlocking. Please create your own thread in the Android section

Hello @JunaNougsot, we understand the importance of unlocking your device. We're happy to provide steps to help resolve your concerns.

Thank you, @dwill05 for the information provided. That is correct, you have to submit an unlock request for iPhones, but you won’t need an unlock code to complete the process.

You can submit a new request if you lose your unlock code. There’s a limit to the number
times you can try to enter the code to unlock your device. The specific number depends
on your device model and manufacturer.

  • You can find specified steps for your device by visiting our AT&T Unlock Code Instructions. You can scroll to find the make and model of your device and follow the steps provided.

Follow instructions carefully. Use extreme care during the unlock process. If you incorrectly
enter an unlock code too many times during the life of the device, you’ll permanently disable
the unlock ability.

Feel free to reach back out to us if you have any questions, and we'll be happy to help. Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.
