contract renewal date

I have a phone that I can upgraded under contract on 11/12/2014.  I'm 99% positive someone told me I could upgrade at the beginning of the month on which your contract ends.  So that would be 11/1/2014.

I'm not told that is not the case.

Am I completely remembering this wrong, or is there valdity to my claim?  I was sure I was told that in August, 2014 when I upgraded one of my plan's iPhones.

Thanks

You can go online to your ATT account and it will tell you when you are eligible for an upgrade on every line you have.  If you are still not clear about upgrade date you can call ATT Customer service and they will gladly tell you your upgrade date.

If you need the steps to do that I will be glad to list them for you.

1. log into your wireless account

2. Go to my ATT

3. Go to Wireless

4.click upgrade Eligibilty

5.  Click on your device

You should then see your upgrade options.

If that doesn't work you can also call att and they will give you more options.

I know this is how you see it.

What I'm trying to say it, I was told I could upgrade on 11/1/2014 if my
contract date was 11/12/2014 (you can renew at the beginning of the month
of when your contract is due). I'm wondering if anyone else has been told
that, since I'm not told that is NOT true.

That used to be true but since ATT changed their upgrade policy last year, not sure if it is still true or not. There will be an easy way to tell, simply log into your account on 11/1 and check your upgrade eligibility. If you get the fully discounted 2 year contract pricing, then you are eligible. If not, you may have to wait until the 12th.

Agreed.

However, a previous agent told me I could upgrade on 11/1, today's agent
says that will not be true. Trying to see if others have received
inconsistent data from ATT. Would be nice to get the same answers for all
agents.

Expiring 2-year contracts normally reset their eligibility on the first day of the expiration month.  This will be reflected some time on the first day of the applicable month.  You'll have to wait until 11/1 to confirm it for your account.

I don't believe that this accommodation is documented anywhere.  It's been available for at least a few years.
