Confirmation codes are not coming through on text

Every time I have a confirmation code sent to my phone number, the text never comes through. Whether it’s for 2 factor authentication, or a text message from a restaurant telling me my table is ready, confirmation codes will not come through. It’s not because I don’t have their number saved, because new phone numbers can text me. I’ve also checked to make sure I do not have the “block unknown texts/calls” setting checked in my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

There are some factors to look for when experiencing challenges while trying to receive verification codes, @bsquared625.


You may need to check the app and remove the numbers if they are listed. If you do not receive text, we highly recommend verifying the number or email in question is accurate. Contacting the Apps Customer Support is recommended if you cannot verify it online. Our Forums article titled Not Receiving Verification Codes from App - Solutions From AT&T will provide you with more information.


Overall, most issues with Short Code problems can be resolved by texting "Help" to the short code to re-setup your ability to receive these codes.  The second most common is customers accidentally blocking the code via their device.


You may be required to perform all these steps, and afterwards, restart your device. Hopefully, this will permit your device to start receiving short codes.
