Calls failing intermittently

My brother and I joined AT&T on my dad's plan, who has been with AT&T for years now, probably a couple weeks ago.

I transferred over my unlocked iPhone 12, my brother bought a new iPhone 13 Pro, and my dad upgraded his phone to an iPhone 13. All of us have been getting "Call failed" problems. My dad tells me he never had this issue before (he previously had a Galaxy S8).

I've tried: resetting network settings on each device, setting to only LTE, restarting device, airplane mode, etc. Nothing seems to work and we'll all experience the issue again eventually. I even experience this with Wifi-Calling on.

Any advice? Thanks

Hello chaube97, we understand the importance of being able to receive/make calls. We're here to help resolve your calls failing.

Thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps that you have already taken.

Try these tips to help get you phone working again:

  • Make sure your software’s up to date.
  • Confirm you have wireless service. Check our network coverage map.
  • Turn off Call Forwarding . ~ Press #21# on your phone and then the CallSendTalk, or Receiver key.
  • Check that you aren't blocking calls.
  • Check your account to make sure your service isn't suspended. If it is, you'll need to pay the full past due to restore service
  • Program your device's APN settings:
    • Tap your Settings menu.
    • Choose either Wireless & Networks, More Networks, or Connections.
    • Tap Mobile Networks, then Access Point Names.
    • Find and select the option to add a new APN. You may find a plus (+) symbol on the screen, or tap the menu button.
    • Program each field using the settings found in the table.
    • Save your changes to return to the APN's menu and choose the new APN.

Please let us know if any of these solutions worked for you. Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community Forums.
