call protect

I am unable to report spam or unwanted texts any more. When I press and hold the message the list of options i.e. more no longer appears; which means the option to fwd the text is no longer there. All that I get is a little box at the bottom of the message containing the following options: Pin, Hide Alerts, Mark as Red, Delete.

Hey, ! Allow us to introduce you to the AT&T ActveArmor app!

The AT&T Call protect app has retired. This explains why you're experiencing difficulties using the app. You'll find the same features in the AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app. You must download the app to avoid service disruption.

Once you've installed the AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app, uninstall the AT&T Call Protect app. You can find out how to download the AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app on our website.

The basic features of AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security are free to all AT&T wireless postpaid and prepaid customers. You can upgrade to include advanced mobile security features for $3.99/per mo. per line if they are not included with your price plan.

If you have trouble accesing the app, please let us know so we can look into the matter.

Thank you for connecting with the AT&T Community Forums!

Thank you for your reply.

I have both applications installed on my iPhone, however, I missed that Call Protect was retired.

I also brought this up with the Apple Community and was provided a bit of information. The Press and Hold functions are part of the iOS; evidently the difficulty the press and hold concern is not related to the applications however, and it seems to be something odd is going on with the phone and/or latest version of iOS.

Somehow; it looks like I have it working again, but extra steps are now required in some messages.

It looks like the spammers have figured out a way to defeat the reporting method. They are sending spam texts as pdf files. When I try to forward the message as instructed by the AT&T ActveArmor app, they are not being delivered now. "Regular" spam text messages are going through.

They are also using email addresses rather than phone numbers.

I think that this is a new methodology that AT&T needs to address.

As I said, I am unable to forward the messages, pdf , to 7726 that spammers are now sending. THAT  is an additional concern that you need to address.
