Bought a phone off of someone, tried to unlock it, won't work

Hi y'all! I recently bought an iPhone 5s locked with AT&T from a coworker (without knowing it was locked). So I went to AT&T's websiteto try and unlock the phone but when I typed in the IMEI code and everything, AT&T shot me an email back saying that my request was denied because the phone I was trying to unlock ws reported as "lost or stolen". Any time I tried to talk to my coworker about it he always made up an excuse to talk about something else. I don't know what to do. Do you think AT&T will unlock it or will they stay stern with their unlocking procedures? I didn't know that the phone was reported as lost or stolen or that it was even locked, if I did, I would not have spent 250 on it. PLEASE help!!

You got ripped off! If coworker always making excuses to change subject, it"s obvious he either found it or stole it. No way AT&T will unlock a phone if it was reported lost or stolen.Your next choice is calling the police department, probaly that get coworker attention.Smiley Surprised
