Apple Watch Series 6 - unable to NumberSync

What happens is that I get the notice that NumberSync is activated, phone shows it is activating, and then 10-15 seconds later I get a text stating that it was removed.

 

At no time has my new watch (upgrade from Series 5) been able to be attached to my plan.

 

I have not called into support yet but looking to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Let's look into what could be going on with syncing your Apple Watch Series 6 to NumberSync. Before attempting to sync your devices we recommend the following steps:

 

Turn off iMessage to get the best experience while using the NumberSync for wearable service. From your iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings, then Messages, then iMessage.
  2. Select OFF.

Make sure to turn iMessage back on when you’re not using NumberSync. With iMessage off:

  • You can send and receive messages with your smartphone number from your smartwatch.
  • You’ll get incoming SMS or MMS texts and message notifications sent to both devices.
  • Outgoing messages and incoming read or unread message status won’t be synced between devices.
  • Messages deleted from the smartwatch won’t delete from your other device.
