It's that time of year again!!!

 

iPhone XS & XS Max ordering starts on Friday, September 14th.

Let's get this thread started so we can keep track of issues, etc.

 

 

When will it be available?

Both the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available to order on September 14 and will ship on September 21!

 

How much will it cost and how much storage will it have?

The iPhone XS will come in three different storage options (listed below) and pricing starts at $999.

How were you able to put all 3 iPhones in one order? I order 2 of them but could only order 1 at a time due to att next program had to do the trade in form first before it allow me to do order the iPhone xs max. 

 

What got me mad I order mine first iPhone xs max gold 64 gb then order my son’s 10 minutes after mine. So I got a notice email saying they got my order. But nothing with the billing yet for the tax. But later I got a billing for my son’s for the $61.60 for the tax. But mine didn’t have anything. So later I went online to chat with someone for over an hour and didn’t get very far. They directed me to call this 800 number so I did and that was even worst. The woman accent literally was irritating me and if she told me one more time to call back in 24 hours I was going to snap. I couldn’t get a clear answer on why my son’s was processed firsts and why he got his bill process when I didn’t get mine processed. So later that evening I finally get email with the billing and with the same amount. Even show up in pending in my checking account. But then next morning I get a text saying that my order has been canceled by me or by them. I was raging mad after being on chat for over an hour and on the phone for 45 minutes. So I got on the phone again and talk to another women who didn’t have accent and was able to understand her. 

 

I told the nice lady what was going on and how many times I been in contact with them. How I was concern on how I wasn’t charged like my son was and maybe that is why it didn’t go thru or got canceled. Nobody can tell me why it got cancelled. I couldn’t believe this was happening after the people I spoke to the other day assure me everything was fine it just needed to get processed Thru the system and could take 24 hours. Well instead it cancelled my order. 

 

Now she said she can re order it for me again and cancel the old order. I was worried that I wouldn’t be getting my iPhone xs max on sept 21st as I was suppose to get according to my original date that was sent to me. She said she would do her best to get it here with my son’s on the same date. So I hope it does and it shows Sept 21st now but hope from now until shipping it won’t be an issue. So received new order number, new invoice for the taxes and her expected deliver date of Sept 21. I also had her recheck my son’s which is Sept 21st. 

 

So I am praying it comes together on Sept 21st and he gets it before his 24th birthday which is Sept 25th. Keeping our fingers crossed. Then we got to ship our iPhone X back when we get our new iPhone Xs max so we can get credited for it. We like the ATT next every year. So we can have the updated new iPhone each year.

My advice, having been in a number of preorders, is:  UNLESS you get a message saying that your order has been cancelled, OR you don’t get a shipping notice by late Thursday afternoon for Friday delivery, just leave it alone!

 

Worrying about or trying to find some meaning in whether someone else got tax charged first or why their status changed from ready to ship before yours is meaningless.  Calling AT&T is just an exercise in frustration and the people who answer and sit behind the computer screen can’t tell you anything more than you can tell yourself by checking your order status because chances are that the screens that AT&T allows them to access don’t have any more information.  This same type of stuff comes up every new iPhone release, and is part of the reason I’d rather purchase from Apple.  Apple has better statusing using with a lot less drama.  That said, when I did get my new iphone through AT&T, it always showed up on launch day, regardless of how long it sat in processing or how late I finally got the shipping notice.

 

Unless you get a direct text or email from AT&T saying there is a problem with your order, just chill and your phone will come.

I did get a text that my first order was canceled but there was no reason why. Even when I called they didn’t know why either. But I was assured the day before when I called when I thought something was up with the order when the tax billing didn’t go thru first before the 2nd one that is why I question it. To make sure it was in process. So they had to redo the entire order over, send me a text code, then email for a link to click on to sign it then in seconds the bill went thru that is what should of happen when I did it the first night. Crazy isn’t it the first one have trouble but 2nd one goes thru doesn’t make no sense. If they would make it easier to order more than 1 iPhone at the same time as well as upgrade the att next iPhone from the old plan but it was a process but never gave me option to add another iPhone to the cart. I would of done it in one cart.

That means you should at least get it for sure!! I bought mine in full
after cancelling a previous order paid in full on the same card, so
hopefully nothing funny happens, still in processing as of now, don’t
expect nothing to move today anyways since it’s Sunday and no one really
working today.

The phones won't even leave the warehouse till Wednesday or Thursday.  Apple is stricked with release date compaired to other oems.

As a former AT&T manager as well as a former Apple employee, I can firmly advise that you would not be required to pay the remaining balance on a secondary line to begin an installment on a main line. You will be required to pay off the remaining trade in cost or buy out cost of any leased device on the line you wish to upgrade on. The only other expenses you may have is AT&T may require you to pay off your entire past due balance, should you have one, to have your account eligible for upgrade.

I’m not sure how it works on a consumer account. I am on premier (business acct), so I chose model, capacity, etc, and then to the next upgrade, and then the next. Whole transaction took about five minutes.

Don’t sweat it. Phones ship overnight and they always make it. If your date shows 09/21, then you should be good.
