When will the Galaxy S5 32GB be available?

It's a pretty simple question, when will  AT&T offer the Galaxy S5 32GB?  I know last year the Galaxy S4 32GB came out about 17-20 days after the Galaxy S4 16GB launched, but last year the price for a 32GB Galaxy S4 was announced and so far this year nothing.

For those who feel 16GB is sufficient, that's great.  For those who feel having a 128GB microSD card slot is sufficient, also great.  But what you cannot do is move app/app data to the microSD card so for those who want and in fact must have a 32GB device (actually about 23-25GB of usable space compared to 10.7GB of usable space) it's a necessity.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks for posting; been waiting for an update on this.

I'm legitimately torn now; I prefer the S5 to anything out right now, but 10 GB storage makes me very nervous and just really isn't acceptable in a flagship phone.  Neither is jerking customers around for 2-3 months so part of me just wants to vote with my feet.

On the other hand, all the competitors seem to have more fatal flaws and the 5.5" phones coming out in ~1-2 months are too big for my taste.

I need a new phone now, but I'm probably 50/50 on the M8 and the S5 at this point.  Shame, I've been a loyal Samsung customer my last two upgrade cycles and would absolutely stay that way if they could get something with enough storage in my hand.

You just voiced every single one of my thoughts. I absolutely love Samsung products and have owned them for my last three upgrades. My current phone is literally on its last leg (it barely charges anymore) and I need a new phone ASAP. I would have never considered switching from Samsung until now, because keeping customers in the dark and releasing a spectacular device with only an option for so little space are both things I'm not cool with.

But, like you said, these 5.5" devices are just way too big for my taste. Plus, I know and love how Samsung devices operate, and I really wanted to stick with that. But, to be honest, I might have to switch brands out of pure need. There's no way I'm buying a 16GB phone. And when I start thinking about it, I get angry that Samsung doesn't seem to care enough about its customers to let them know about a 32GB variant.

The M8 is my most likely pick at this point, if Samsung doesn't release the device or at least some information within the next week or so. I'm really bummed though. I really have loved all of my Samsung devices.

So frustrated waiting... 32 GB S5 was going to be a no-brainer choice for my upgrade. Wouldn't be surprised if they don't get one at this point.

update

just got off chat with samsung and they said that there were no new updates on the release of  32 GB version of galaxy and i asked if that means it is not coming out in 32gb version and i was told that they can not confirm it however currently there are no 32 gb versions for this device. So idk if this is what they are told to say so that the sales of the 16gb do well, but i am very dissapointed with this because i watched the unpacking live back in feb and they said that they would have two vesions 16 and 32gb.

i am not sure what i am going to do so i am going to stay with my andriod, sorry at&t

I'm starting to question whether or not there will be one.  Samsung sure likes to have all this pomp and pizazz during the announcements but when it comes out to actually delivering - they fall short.  They always have no comment and it ends up at most being a finger pointing exercise with Samsung and the carriers blaming each other.  I am in dire need of an upgrade and wanted a GS5.  I have a GS4 that is seemingly close to going haywire and is up for an upgrade but I just can't bring myself to buy another 16GB galaxy phone considering how many problems i have with the 16GB on my GS4.

I also have a phone on the Verizon network that needs an upgrade and would have also gone for a GS5 32GB but since there is none, it's heavily considering HTC M8 now.

The 32gb exists internationally just not in the US for whatever asinine reason.

Every other day or so since launch I do a google search and late May it finally came up as being available through Swisscom in Switzerland. http://www.swisscom.ch/en/residential/mobile/devices/samsung-galaxy-s5-32gb-black.html

So it's definitely not vaporware like the S3 64gb and S4 64gb were. Anyone else catch the lack of mention of a 64gb option for the S5.

I've tried asking their Twitter accounts but they just give me the run around and say "ask the carrier."

Samsung batteries are replacable! Spend a few dollars and buy a new battery, and your phone will be like new!  If it isn't charging because of a bad connector you can get 2 NFC compatable batteries and a charger for less than $25 on Amazon - last time it checked.

This whole response is simply ridiculous and insulting to US consumers.  The announcement of the S5 was for 2 variants--16 and 32GB internal memory.  Now, we're pretty sure, Samsung will announce an upgraded handheld no later than September 14 when the Note 4 announcement is made.  With any luck, Samsung will quit screwing around with its' high-end purchasers and the new model--Galaxy s5 Prime/Galaxy F or Galaxy Alpha, whatever--will have 32 GB for US carriers.  If not, I will be taking my business to LG--their direct Korean competition. I'm tired of the runaround nonsense responses from Samsung. Seriously don't think that senior corporate folks understand the occidental markets.

Forgot I was subbed to this thread...

I asked Samsung via e-mail support last week and recieved an identical response. Then when I wrote back to complain about the response they sent me they same d/\mn canned message again with some minor differences to reflect what I had written. I have a feeling it's just a bot.

I was ready for a Galaxy S3 64gb so I'm long past tired of the $hitty way phones are sold and marketed in the US.

I've been using an iphone 3GS "temporarily" for the past two years so I'm considering just getting the LG G3 32GB and sign up for T-mobile's Jump plan, then swap to the S5 32gb prime/alpha if that actually gets released in Sept.

Funny. I'm also using an iPhone 3GS. Misery loves company. Also very frustrated waiting for the Galaxy S5 32GB to launch. Why the wait? 16GB is not enough internal memory for a modern smartphone.

I had a SG Note 3 which I returned. Spectacular phone that sold me on KitKat and Android, but the Note 3 is way too big. I thought I needed a giant screen until I actually had one. Impossible to do anything one-handed. Ridiculous carrying it in a pocket. Even the S5 is slightly too large IMO, but it's arguably the best thing out there right now. Ideal ergonomic size is the LG G2.

Anyway, think I'm going to abandon Samsung for another brand. Too bad.

I agree on the internal memory and will never own anything less than 32 GBs again.
I like the Phablet, so the Note 3 is doing the job, but I would have gotten the S5 if it had been offered with 32 GBs.
I still kick myself for getting the 16 GB S3 when the 32 was available to me.

I will keep my eyes open......

it amazes me that no one just does not throw a 128gig sd card in there and go.  Or has samsung not fixed the permissions on there phones.  I can use my 128gig card with my g3 and M8

Lol, small world. I really hate that the 3GS is EOL by apple, since now about half the apps I try to install or update say I need iOS 7. effing annoying!

Same here, my friends and family think I'm nuts for refusing to buy a new 16gb phone just because I can't get one with 32gb. I even said flat out to a Samsung rep I saw in Costco last year, I'd rather continue using my ancient 16gb device than buy their new flagship 16gb device. I also stated several times that my phone was already full. I made it clear I was very interested in buying a Galaxy S4, but all he said was "Hmm, that's interesting."

I too wish I hadn't passed on the GS3 32gb because I thought the 64gb was supposed to become available. T-mobile never carried the GS4 32gb, and the locked boot-loader on the ATT GS4 32gb variant kept me from getting one full price and getting it carrier unlocked, too many hoops to jump though and too high a chance I'd be stuck with an ATT rom and it's bloatware.
