Voicemail service not available
Phone: HTC A9
When accessing voicemail I get the "Service Not Available" message. It has been this way for the last 5 days ...
This is the first time this has happened in the last 4 years.
Thank you ...

@ATTCares
No you don't understand this is a problem. The voice mail has been down since Sept 25th. You need to tell people exactly what is wrong.

Voicemail just restored. Make sure to dial 611 and get AT&T to issue a credit. They initially told me it was $10 but when I pushed back, the amount went to $15. Everyone should do this so AT&T recognizes the cost of their incompetent customer messaging on this issue.

@JillUser, This won't help retrieve old messages, but to receive new messages, I installed the free YouMail app from the Playstore.

****Update**** I am now able to retrieve voicemail messages.
Don't know how or why but I've been all over the place complaining about this today...including filing a complaint with FCC. Suggest everyone try the voice mail now. Good luck to everyone!!

I just spoke with Marsha in the Tulsa office who tells me that not only is this a nationwide problem, but that it is affecting Verizon and T-Mobile as well as AT&T because they all use the same Voicemail vendor (now there is an idea for a new start-up business...be the competition to this one voicemail vendor). She said that this started on September 20th when a server in North Carolina went down. She commented that as of this morning a few people would get VM messages, but then the system would go down again. She said our voicemails are NOT being held for ransom somewhere and that somebody feels that they are "very close" to solving the problem. She will suggest to her supervisor that somebody come on here and honestly and completely explain what is happening rather than the brief posts claiming a vendor problem and then disappearing. (That would be great, but we will see if anything really happens.) Just passing on what I was told. It was nice to talk to somebody I could understand and did not cuss like the CS rep in the Phillipines did this last Saturday.

Our business phone voicemail has been down for 24 hours. We were able to retrieve by calling in to the voicemail but now it is completely off. We could potentially lose $10,000 of dollars from this. It's weird because my phone vm works but not the business vm which is my husband's phone. GRRR! My husband is now going to ATT to either get a new phone or come up with another solution.
