Unlock screen not appearing after receiving code

We purchased a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S21 5G from a third party website. After realizing our phone needed to be unlocked by the previous carrier (AT&T) We received an unlock code and followed the steps to input said code. However, when powering the phone back on, there is no code input screen after we inserted our carriers SIM card (Mint Mobile). Please help as this is incredibly frustrating

To unlock your Samsung Galaxy S21 follow the instructions below:

Power of the device and insert a non- AT&T Sim card. If your Sim card slot is located under the battery, remove the battery.Insert the battery back into the device.
Power on the device with non-AT&T Sim. Wait for the message "Enter the device unlock code."
Enter the unlock cose and press ok.

Keep in mind you only get 5 tried to unlock your phone, after that you won't be able to use it with another service provider.
