Unlock request unsuccessful moto one 5g uw ace

I purchased the phone from eBay it was previously used on AT&t so I went online to request for an unlock and it says it's still active on an account but it's not even the right model number that I have it's coming up as a Motorola Razer of some kind and it says to get it unlock to call customer service so I did they give me the 8 digit code it's saying unlock request unsuccessful so I called back after trying my again they gave me the same exact code as before and so it says the same thing so I tried it by instructions put the SIM card in the phone turned it off charges to full turn it back on into the code still unsuccessful and nobody seems to know how to help me or at least doesn't want to I just need to be able to use my phone eBay it doesn't have the previous owners information because they were selling it as parts only it wasn't supposed to work

It sounds to me like somebody has done some creative work on this phone for it to come up as the wrong phone when you check the IMEI. Check it somewhere else like on swappa and see what comes up. The IMEI should always identify the correct device. If it doesn't it's because somebody did something they're not supposed to do.

By the way AT&t is not usually very helpful when you buy a device second hand. For example if you need to escalate this to an FCC complaint AT&t is probably going to tell you to pound sand. You may wind up having to buy an unlock code

By the way there have been multiple reports of the Motorola one ace getting the wrong unlock code. It's a Motorola problem. Motorola provides AT&t with the codes that AT&t passes along to customers. The problem is Motorola gave out AT&t a whole bunch of wrong  codes

They are not at all by anyway and no means especially when it comes to that like you said yes I did check it other places and it comes up exactly what the phone is which is a Motorola one 5G xt2075-1... it was only supposed to be sold for parts because it wasn't supposed to work so they don't have the previous owners information at eBay and when I go on to the AT&t unlock screen that's the only place that it comes up as an xt2071-2 which is a razor and mine is an xt2075-1 but all anybody can tell me is that obviously it's active on somebody else's account because the online website says it is no it's not because every time I call AT&t itself I've got five different people that gave me the same 8 digit code to unlock my phone because they said it is eligible to be unlocked the only place which is on the AT&t online unlock website says that it's not because it's still active on an account but it comes up as that other model number and from there sorry you just won't be able to use it with any other carrier but AT&t that's b******* there's no reason why if I look up the IMEI number on bring your own device with T-Mobile it is very capable of being transferred to T-Mobile so why do I only need to buy service to AT&t to use a phone that I know is eligible to be unlocked that nobody just wants to help me unlock it if somebody would actually listen to what I'm saying obviously I've got one person that actually listened and read it everybody else just sees the oh it's active online on somebody else's account so there ain't nothing we can do read the posts people you work there there's no reason why you can't unlock a phone no reason at all you can lock it to make it AT&t but you can't unlock it come on now I have called literally seven times just the AT&t customer service AT&t stores locally I even called the corporate office and not one person can help me unlock an AT&t phone doesn't make any sense at all

And I wouldn't mind buying a code but how am I going to even know that the code is going to work when no other code is working I've called my carrier they gave me two different codes to use not working I've got six from AT&t which of course every one of them were the same request for unlocked unsuccessful and I think it all comes down to the fact that that IMEI number is linked to that other model number which of course a brand new phone is going to be linked and active on somebody's account why wouldn't it be but this phone was sold for parts it wasn't even supposed to work so I just don't understand how somebody who works at a company who locks a phone so somebody else can't use it cannot unlock the phone so somebody else can use it since it is compatible with another company and is eligible to be unlocked I wish somebody would actually help people instead of oh well you need to contact this or do this f****** help me it's not that hard

Based on what you just posted I suspect that this phone has been refurbished which is why the IMEI is coming up funky. It would also explain why the unlock code doesn't work.

If the phone was sold for parts, usually that means there's a bad IMEI, or the phone has been repaired and parts do not match the original IMEI.

That would make sense because it was listed on eBay as a motor one five g's Plus the sticker on it says more than one 5G Ace and obviously on AT&t's website it comes up as razer and now that you say that honestly when I called AT&t they said and their words you have some sort of Motorola but I never thought about it until you said that just now so is there any way to fix it to get it unlocked so I can use it I just don't understand how or why really somebody wouldn't be able to help me unlock it so I can use my phone there has to be some wait to delete something off of it or do something if they did it to begin with to lock it so nobody could use it who didn't have AT&t whyc an't they just unlock it

And you know I've been posting for days and days on here and every time I speak to somebody I tell him about it and that no one had responded back and they said that AT&t employees always respond back to any posts on there within the hour that's funny is it not one person has turned in to say anything but give me type of help but I really do appreciate your posts and opinions at least it starts to make sense but I still don't understand why somebody couldn't just look at it and tell me if there was any way to unlock it obviously they look at phones all day long obviously they could see if it was an easy fix or not listen here it is they just choose not to do it since everybody act talked to can only look at this but they can't look at this they can see this but they can't see that they can do this but they can't do that but I guarantee if I want to call any one of them and pay something they could all do it I just want to know if I can get it unlocked and use it so I don't keep wasting my time and again I really do appreciate all your help...!!!

Given the circumstances and your description of what's going on with the imei, I would return the phone.  (if possible)

If the phone has been repaired with miscellaneous parts from other imei's and other models then it's screwed up beyond belief and even if they give you the right unlock code for the IMEI you submit it may not work on the phone.

The situation on eBay has gotten worse and worse and I don't trust anything they sell anymore. I barely Trust swappa.

I appreciate it again for all your help finally somebody at least tried to explain everything to me which it all makes more sense now it just (Edited per community guidelines) that I won't be able to use it I really like the phone they offered me a refund on it but it's an expensive phone I mean from what I've been able to look up and kind of put together of what it is and like I said they sold it for parts because it wasn't supposed to even work but I've been all around with electronics for a hobby so I only paid 20 bucks for the phone I could probably just turn around and resell it and just put it as an AT&t locked phone I guess but it's a really nice phone it just (Edited per community guidelines) that I can't use it I'm pretty sure from the looks of everything on it the camera and all that it looks like a Motorola one 5G or 5g plus and it works perfectly fine now I guess I'll just have to cut my losses but I'm just glad that you actually took the time to respond to my posts so I could kind of get the gist of what was going on because nobody even mentioned anything about refurbished or anything they heard active on another account and that was it that was the end of it so I really appreciate all your help again thanks so much for all your time and patience and for just being there you're awesome...!!!
