SGH-I747 Galaxy S3 battery life issues
I have had my Galaxy S3 since the 6th and have been extremely disappointed with the battery life. I purchased this phone to replace a Samsung Infuse. With the exact same apps, gmail account, auto adjust brightness enabled, energy saving enabled on the S3, mail syncing in 5min intervals, screen timeout 1min...etc. - everything set the same as my Infuse. I have been getting between 7-8hrs per charge on the S3 while I was getting 13-14hrs on the Infuse. I called Samsung Tech this morning and made the specialist note that during the 9 minute phone call I watched the battery fall from 55% down to 52% with the screen brightness on the lowest setting. I know something is going on because I can leave the phone locked on my desk for an hour, pick it up and feel that the back/lower portion of the phone near the USB connector is warm. If I do this side-by-side with my Infuse, the Infuse is cool/room temperature while the S3 is noticeably warm.
Everything about this phone is stellar, amazing, way beyond my expectations!!!!! I am simply looking for a way to resolve this battery life issue as it seems like something is remaining "active" while the phone is on standby/locked.
Per the Samsung specialist, I removed my SD card from the phone, performed a factory reset and am currently charging it. I will see if this helps the cause.
Please provide thoughts, suggestions...!!
