settings app crashes on my Alcatel Onetouch Allura
I am trying to change my notification tones, but every time I click on the sound and notification tab, it says unfortunately, settings stopped working. I have tried everything that was suggested online and nothing is working. It was working fine when I bought the phone, yesterday. Please help.

Hi there @twebber001!
The ability to change and customize your notification settings is definitely a great benefit for your device. I would also be concerned if this was occurring on my new phone as well!
Since you have started to notice the problem to begin, have you attempted a reboot on your phone? By powering your device off and back on, this can assist the device to refresh its system.
I would also suggest clearing cache on your Settings app itself. You can perform this by going to your Settings > Device tab > Applications or Apps > Application manager, scroll to locate Settings > tap Force Stop > tap Storage > Clear Cache. When you attempt to re-open the application, it should not give you the same notice.
It’s always best to monitor your software on the phone. If you can update the software, the better it is for your phones system to run smoothly. To learn how to do this, check out our Device Support Tool. Select your make and model phone > View all Tutorials > System & Storage.
Let us know how it works out!

Hello again @twebber001!
I appreciate your prompt response in regards to the troubleshooting steps I provided. I’ll be happy to provide additional steps with you.
After performing the above troubleshooting steps and you are still experiencing the same problem, I recommend backing up and restoring the phone. You can learn how to back-up your data and reset here. Select your make and model phone > View all Solutions > Backup and Restore > Troubleshooting > Reset Device.
Depending on how long ago you purchased the phone, you may qualify for returning the phone to the point of sale location. If you are out of the 14 days buyers remorse period, I suggest looking into warranty or insurance replacement.
I hope this is found to be advantageous. Have an excellent day!
