Samsung S5 wifi continuiously dropping connection
I've had this issue for a while now, but yesterday & today my wifi won't stay stable.
Is anyone else having this issue?!? I chatted with Samsung and they asked me to go into safe mode and see if this fixes it, however, I knew it wasn't an app issue and sure enough, my connection dropped again. They then said I need to factory reset my device....I really REALLY don't want to, but I mean, I'm getting too fustrated with the wifi issue. However, in the begining of the chat, it appears that they're aware of this issue:
Susan: my Samsung s5 wifi has been dropping consistently for the past 2 days
Susan: different wifi spots, literally sat right next to the router to see if it would stay connected longer than 2 minutes
Susan: rebooted the phone, pulled the battery out and tried again..however it's constistanly dropping so I asked about 6 of my friends that have s5's and theirs are doing the same thig
Adney: I see that the wifi is been dropped on the device.
Adney: Let me see what I can do for you.
Before any other information was provided to this person, it was acknowledged.
I actually went on facebook and asked my friends if anyone is having this issue as well and after about 40 minutes of gathering information it appears that my friend on Verizon running kitkat 4.4.4 is NOT having any issues, however, the 3 of us on ATT are running kitkat 4.4.2 and ARE having issues..and some of us had this issue for a couple weeks, but I just noticed yesterday. And, our phones are not able to upgrade to kitkat 4.4.4.
Does ANYONE know if AT&T is going to get kitkat 4.4.4?? Or if they're going to go straight to Lolipop? At this rate, my data bill is going to be sky high and I am kinda upset that AT&T isn't allowing us the update, therefore pushing me...US to over-use our data.

nevermind. FYI, if anyone else is having this issue, please go to your wifi settings & disable Smart network switch.
mine has stayed connected for over 5 minutes now 🙂
