Samsung S22 wifi calling provisioning failed error

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 and cannot get the wifi calling to work.  I have restarted my phone numerous times, and tried to enable wifi calling numerous times.  Every single time, I receive an error message that states "Provisioning failed. Please try again later."

I have even tried to activate it while sitting at home which uses the AT&T Fixed Wireless Internet service and the AT&T Modem/routee for our wifi.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edited to Add the fact that wifi calling has NEVER worked for me - even before today's outage.  I cannot even get to the e911 setup page.

I have also force stopped the app, cleared the cache, cleared the data, turned off my phone for 10 minutes, rebooted my phone, tried to start wifi calling again and still get the same provisioning failed error.

Hey @LCasto7! Thank you for reaching out to us. We are here to help you in any possible way. Let's help get your Wi-Fi Calling working.

First, make sure that you switch off your mobile data and then connect to Wi-Fi. Now, disable/enable the feature as a reset:

  1. Tap Settings on your phone, then tap Cellular (Apple devices) or Connection (Android devices).
  2. Check if Wi-Fi Calling's listed.
    • If it is, select Wi-Fi Calling.
    • If not, your phone isn’t compatible.
  3. Review important info and confirm your emergency 911 address.

Also, troubleshoot Wi-Fi Calling by navigating to our wireless support article and select AT&T Wireless support for AT&T Wireless customers - AT&T® Official Site (att.com) to start a session. You may find related causes and will definitely be provided with top personalized solutions. Please let us know how these tips work out for you.

Feel free to reach out to us if you've any further questions!

If you can't get the 911 address to set up that's probably because the address is not valid in AT&t's database.

Please set up Wi-Fi calling anywhere that the address is valid.   (Starbucks etc)

I don't understand why my address wouldn't be valid in their database.  I have been at this address for over 20 years and had the same phone number with AT&T even longer than that.  Wifi calling works on my husband's S22 and our son's Pixel 7.

I forgot to mention that I cannot even get to the e911 set up page no matter where I am located.  I have tried to set it up while beIng in different locations that have a wifi I could connect to.

@ATTHelp

THANK YOU!!

Turning off mobile data is apparently the key.  It finally brought me to the e911 screen and finished activating after I turned off mobile data.

Anyone else having this problem - Make sure your MOBILE DATA is turned OFF in settings.
