I recently went online to search and see if an update to Android 7.0 was available for the Galaxy S6 Active. I searched and I found out that there was. I picked up my phone and went to Settingsand there was an update available. I installed the update believing that this would update my phone form Android 6.0.1 to 7.0. It did not. I figured that my phone just needed to receive that update, then it would be possible to update to Android 7.0. I followed my process form before going to Settings, but this time it said that my device was up to date. I then checked my android version by going to Settings, but it showed my android version as still being 6.0.1 (It was at 6.0.1 before installing the update). Is it not possible to update the Galaxy S6 Active to Android 7.0? If it is possible, then how would I go about doing so. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey there @ewheck!
Thanks for joining the Community Forums! We are always happy help, and I am glad you brought this software question to us.
Sometimes when prepping for a new version of the operating systems, there are smaller patches which need to be installed first. We do recommend waiting 24 hours to check for another update, as the phone will need to “settle” the previous one.
The Device Support Center is a fantastic resource for not only best steps to update, but also to verify your baseband version. Once you reach the page, please select your S6 Active and click on Tutorials.
If you scroll part way down the screen, you will see Software update. If your phone is showing Baseband G890AUCS6CPK8, then the next update you receive should be the Nougat.
I hope this information helps!

Hey @aycannehir,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community Forums for some assistance with updating your device. I completely understand the importance of making sure the software on your phone is up to date. Since you mentioned you are on android version 5.1.1 and are unable to continue further, I would highly recommend visiting a Samsung Experience Shop to get some assistance. You can find one located inside your local Best Buy.
They'll be able to flash your phone to the correct version. This is the most effective way to resolve this issue. I hope this works for you and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Hello,
in response to the Samsung experience store, I called around and found Samsung has dissolved this. I am having the same issue as @aycannehir, and was told a store with a Samsung rep may be able to flash update, but confirmed they can no longer do this. any other ideas ATT?
the device is now having trouble with App updates because the app is stating the device is not up to date enough.

My Galaxy S6 got stuck at 5.1.1 and wouldn't upgrade. So I called AT&T and they suggested to go visit a Best-buy store to have my phone flashed.
When I went to the store they told me that they don't offer that anymore. Any idea where or how to get this phone upgraded? Thank you!
