Samsung Galaxy Note II Kitkat update?

I have a Galaxy Note II that I bought from my company when they upgraded their phones. It has been factory reset. We went into the master reset manually and wiped/formatted everything. Then it was set up as a new phone. I can't seem to get an update on it. Well I did, but I didn't.

I received an update, but nothing changed. Here is my phone details:

Model Number: SAMSUNG-SGH-I317

Android version: 4.1.2

Baseband version: I317UCAMC3

Kernel version: 3.0.31-578342 se.infra@SEP-76#1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Apr 10 17:14:59 KST 2013

Build number: JZO54K.I317UCAMC3

Any idea how I can get the newest update to actually work?

Hello @Kruegon,

Welcome to the AT&T Community Forums! Keeping your phone up to date is imperative not only for new features but for security reasons as well.  I’m sorry to hear your device is having issues.  I would be happy to assist you with this.

To update the software the phone needs to be an AT&T branded phone and be able to receive an AT&T cellular signal.  We have a wonderful Device Support page which has the information on how to check for updates, and when the previous updates were released.  Make sure the correct make and model is selected, and then scroll towards the bottom of the page and click on Software updates.

If you still experience issues and the phone is an AT&T branded phone please visit our Troubleshoot and Resolve tool.  Make sure the correct phone is selected then for the issue, choose Software.

I hope you are able to get your phone’s software updated, and please have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you. I have managed to get it to update to 4.3 now, but it won't go any farther. I check it everyday. It says my current version is up to date. According to the AT&T website, I have at least 4 updates to go. I317UCUCNE5, I317UCUCNJ1, I317UCUCNJ2, & I317UCSCNJ5. Any clue as to why it's doing this?

Hey there @Kruegon,

Thanks for responding!  I am glad to hear you were able to process an update. The remainder of the updates should be received shortly after and continue from there. If you are still experiencing any problems with the newer updates I would recommend checking out Samsung’s Experience workshops.

These locations can flash software onto your phone. This can be a huge help to move your phone to the newer software versions. I would make sure to backup all your information beforehand to ensure nothing is lost during the updates. Our Device Support page has a great section on this under Tutorials > Backup & Reset.

Keep me updated on how it goes!
