S5 constantly getting 'Check Battery Cover' message after 4.4.4 update

Ever since I was updated to 4.4.4 everytime I unlock my phone to use it after being idle for about 5 minutes I get the 'Check Battery Cover' pop-up message. I use to only get this message after I restarted my phone, but now I get it everytime.

Anyone else having this issue? Any way to turn this off? Extremely annoying.

This is NOT a hardware issue. It is not simply the SD card or the cover on loose. This issue started 1 minute after I applied the 4.4.4 update. It likely does relate to having a wireless charger cover but it was totally as a result of the 4.4.4 update.

I find it VERY unacceptable that AT&T has not responded to this thread in almost 2 months and are not providing a fix. AT&T, you pushed an update to my phone that makes me want to throw my phone against the wall. Now what are you going to do about it.

If you are not going to resolve this, please document how I can safely restore my phone to before the 4.4.4 "update".

I am totally considering selling this phone and moving to T-Moble or maybe Verizon.

Anyone try switching back to their normal non-wireless charging back cover? I haven't yet, but will  since I still find it strange it would have anything to do with the cover. Although so far that is the common denominator between everyone that has posted on here.

Regardless, this was never an issue until the forced 4.4.4 update and really needs to be resolved. Also the answer from AT&T shouldn't be "you need to reset your phone and start over again".

I have not been seeing the same issue with the Lollipop update

I know you think you checked the battery cover. I took it off and put it on quite a few times and it did not resolve the issue. then, I read that the exact sequence of applying pressure was crucial in getting it to seat properly. I went from having at least 30 annoying popups a day to zero in the last week. follow the exact instructions I posted above and tell me it doesn't help.it has been heaven for me!

As I said, the lollipop update fixed it and no I did not try removing and adding the cover back on again 😛

YES!  I did switch back to my normal, non-charging cover for a day.  The only time I got that message was after rebooting the phone.

I too had no issues before 4.4.4.

I didn't realize Lollipop was available yet for the S5.  But I see an article saying it just same out April 8.  Anxious to try it out!

There is no way I am trying Lollipop. If AT&T can mess up something as simple as this popup message on a minor update, what problems will we have from a major version upgrade. I did see lots of posts regrading Lollipop bugs (and it has only been available for a few days) .

It's been pretty good for me so far but I did clear out all my cache too
and maybe that is the reason people have issues
