Request Shipping Label for ATT Next upgrade

I upgraded my phone through ATT Next upgrade, had my new device ordered online but picked up in store. I am now trying to return my old device and am told the store cannot accept the phone AND they cannot print me a shipping label. Can someone help direct as to exactly how I am supposed to return my old device now?

We can help you with that, @Sydels!

It's possible to request shipping supplies for your eligible trade-in device by following these instructions:

  • Go to AT&T Trade-in Program >  Ask for Help > Request shipping materials, or use the online chat support.
  • Call the Support Line: 888.445.6005
    •  Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 7am – 7pm CST.

We hope this info helps. Let us know how this works for you!

Hey @Sydels

were you able to find a solution to this? I am facing the same problem and have no idea what to do.

@Mrinalini after going in-person to a store I was able to get them to show me the email to which they sent me shipping label to print off. It had been delivered to the wrong email address, but after seeing where it was sent I was able to print the label and return the old phone with no issues. It was pulling teeth to get the email address however, so good luck!

Thank you! The person at the store sent me back saying he can’t do it. I will try the customer service rep again and confirm they have the right address. Do you remember if you spoke to a normal customer service rep or was it someone from the trade in team? The trade in team says they don’t event have my device registered for a trade in. Maybe I need to sort that detail out first. It’s always been a nightmare dealing with ATT, I keep going around in circles

I'm pretty sure it was a normal rep? It was just one of the employees who come up to help when you walk in the store. And I just explained to them my issue and I walked them through the problem and then had to provide ID and proof of account and then they were able to tell me the address

Same issue! Tried using chat and was told they were emailing me the label. Waited 2 hours didn’t get it so I contacted them again…again they said they were emailing it to me..waited 2 more hours and called 800 number and was told I would have to order a whole new kit and I would have it in 2 days! So I did! It’s been 5! Called AT&T  AGAIN and they said I have to wait another 2 days for it to come and then can escalate it!! This is RIDICULOUS! ALL I NEED IS A REPRINT OF THE ORIGINAL RETURN LABEL! So bewildered how this simple task of emailing a shipping label has turned into this!

@gingerjwheeler hang in there. This process can get super frustrating. I kept calling every 2 days and finally got one of the agents to mail a physical return label with the box to my address. One other thing you can try is going to an authorized AT&T store and getting them to resolve. I didn’t have one near me, so I was just left with calling them every other day. Every agent tried the email, but it didn’t work. Ask them to send a physical return box and label to your address.
edit: the label took 8 days to come

I called them over the phone and they gave me a label within 5 minutes. I put it in my own box and everything worked out.

Just an FYI if you're returning an early upgrade do not use the information marked as the official and correct solution. That is for the trade-in program which is a promotion and is not for the early upgrade with "next up"
