Recently signed up for prepaid to get on the ATT network for a firmware upgrade.

I own an Lg g8x thinq and wanted to get to Android 10 update.

It was previously an AT&T phone that was unlocked and then resold on ebay. I've been using it on cricket for a while now but wanted the new android 10 update.

I've inserted the ATT sim and have proceeded through the setup process and can make calls and send text messages. As well as browse the net on the regular mobile data.

However when i go into the system prompt and try to check for updates a menu immediately pops up saying that i'm up to date and doesn't seem to actually try checking for an update.

I'm currently on G850UM10i and would like to upgrade to the latest G850UM20m.

I've tried clearing the data/cache of the software updater in the apps however this seems to have not had any effect.

Do i just need to clear them again and try again tomorrow or do I need to get into contact with AT&T support or LG to see how to force the phone to trigger the update?

Any help is appreciated.

I purchased an LG on swappa. It took about 48 hours before I was able to trigger any updates. Just hang in there.

Once you do you'll probably have to wait a day and then do another update, wait a day and then do another update Etc

AT&T says you have to be on Wi-Fi (and connected to the AT&T network) to download the updated firmware.  Are you on a Wi-Fi connection?

Yea, i am.

I waited for a day and didn't see the update available so I went into the settings and had it check and am now on a long list of patches that aren't even listed on the official changelog.

Seems like the update checker just has a  timeout so that you dont try more than once per day or something.

Strangely enough, I just finished the 20m update and now it's downloading another one .... I guess there was an April 1st patch that hasn't been listed on the updates page.
