RCS not working for all people since getting S22

Since getting my new S22, RCS no longer works with my wife.  We are both on AT&T branded Samsung phones and using Google Messages.  We both have chat features enabled.  The only difference is that mine says it's "powered by AT&T" while hers says "powered by Jibe Mobile".  Does AT&T's RCS seriously not interact with Jibe Mobile RCS?  Furthermore, why wouldn't there be consistency within AT&T on this?  They are both AT&T phones purchased through AT&T and used on the AT&T network.

Can someone from AT&T comment on this?

I've been on the phone with tech support on this issue for 2 days. I have tried clearing cache on messages, and carrier services. sideloaded google messages beta most recent apk, side loaded 2/18 carrier services apk, network reset, and even tried a hard reset again. Still no resolution on getting RCS to work at all. I always get back to connected but no RCS.  This is definitely something going on with either AT&T server or carrier services app not handling the att support server. @ATTLiz @attsupport  someone needs to jump in on this it is definitely going to be a major issue moving forward for most and of course carrier unlocked phones are now on backorder until april smh. not making this mistake again buying a locked version of a phone

Small update, I'm able to use chat features with my wife, who upgraded to an S22 plus the same time I did. I still have no chat features with anyone else. I downloaded the beta Messages app from the app store, my wife still has the latest official release.

I'll update if anything else has changed.

I'm having the same issue with my Samsung GS22. AT&T couldn't provide me with any assistance yesterday nor could Samsung. I tried clearing my cache and data. I even did a factory reset and still can't get the Android Messages features to work despite it saying I'm connected. I had zero issues on my GS10! They really need to fix this problem and soon.

Samsung is saying it's an AT&T problem.

Finished a chat with AT&T support and supposedly a fix should be issued within 24-48 hours

Now I just found this.  It's a bit concerning.

1Advanced Messaging: Both sender & recipient(s) must be AT&T postpaid wireless customers with Advanced Messaging-capable devices utilizing the most recent device software, are turned on and must be within AT&T’s owned & operated domestic coverage area. Advanced Messaging is not compatible with certain rate plans.

Why would they limit this feature to at&t users only? It's like limiting iMessage to at&t only which would be ridiculous.  Incredibly disappointing if true.

Hello ljluna92, we have an answer for you.

RCS interoperability is currently available between AT&T and T-Mobile RCS enabled devices for 1:1 chat only. RCS interoperability with other carriers is currently planned to be available to customers by mid-2022. Fun fact: Advanced Messaging from AT&T is currently interoperable with Cricket, leveraging several AT&T RCS network elements.

If you have any further questions or concerns.

@ATTHelp you just cut off support without notice between existing AT&T customers with AT&T purchased devices.  I can't do RCS chat with anyone I that i used to be able to besides those with a new Galaxy S22.
