Prepaid phone network failed in California from yesterday?

I'm in San Diego. I'm using 4 prepaid multi-lines with ATT (with auto payment). We're using those phones ok so far. ( 2 International (Korean) unlocked phones were working as 3G lines with ATT)

From Monday (10.30.2017), two of phones (my wife's Samsung Galaxy Mega, my daughter's LG G pro) stopped working. Factory reboot doesn't work. The SIM cards are working fine in other phones.

I've noticed those phones were purchased in South Korea, Our other family members were using ok a while ago.

Factory reset didn't help at all.

Does ATT make some mod with their network with internationally purchased version phones? like 3G connection disabled..things like that?

But my son's phone is working fine which was also made and purchased in South Korea. (LG G-pro 2)

I've tested those SIM cards with empty extra phone from Korea which was working fine with ATT and T-Mobile, but my wife's and my daughter' sim cards are not working with those 3 phones. I don't think three phones got physically malfunctioned at the same time. Local ATT store (at Carmel Mt. plaza in San Diego) could figure out why. SIM card looks good, phone's APN settings are good, but for some reason the signal doesn't work.

What should I do? Anybody lost signal from Monday? Please help... I really appreciate any advice.

I'm going back and forth South Korea frequently. So I've tested myself with active Korean SIM card which is working fine and currently roaming in other device in US.

And Samsung Galaxy Mega is working fiine (which was using KT Olleh in Korea), I'm guessing and strongly believe  that Samsung and LG did something through their recent firmware or signal tweaking in US. 'Cuz both phones got inactive at sameday.

I'don't play video games and don't need facny phones with strong CPU and VGA. All I do is some calls, text, webs, and sometimes stocks.

Probably they don't want their 'unlocked old' phones to be used outside of Korea with foreign network provider. (but this happened to older viersion phones like LG optimus G pro, Samsung Galaxy Mega, LG optimus  View 2 etc.. ..at the date of 10.30.2017 ) too bad. I have to buy other phones. Please someone share this experience if you have same problem.

Long story short,

- Some old (3~5) working good Korean unlocked phone (KT olleh + LG U+) with ATT prepaid network in US -->  stopped working with ATT APN setting, but working fine with active Korean SIM card with ROAMING (yes, huge bills).Man Frustrated

Hello @xtashi,

Thank you for reaching out on the Community Forums.  Being able to use your own device on our Prepaid service is a great feature.  I am sorry to hear you are having issues.  I would be happy to help.

Please check the IMEI of the device for compatibility on our helpful website.  Please note, there are only certain bands which are compatible with our service, if one of those bands is taken off for maintenance it may render the device unusable if it is unable to pick up other bands.

If you continue to have issues, please reach back out so we can look into your account to make sure all the provisioning’s are correct.  I hope you have a wonderful week!

We(Carmel Mt.Plaza ATT shop + 611 Assistant + 611 Higher manager tech team) ' ve already gone thru account/IMEI on that day. There is no problem. One of the phone (Galaxy Mega) is currently being used with Korean SIM card at roaming mode with T-mobile line. I bet all the phones are mechanically fine too. What you said is possible option. Cuz Galaxy Mega(Kor version) was using 3G lines. In this case, 1) ATT discontinued that 3G band or moded or it's under repair. 2) Korean company blocked/modified their IMEIs/firmware not compatible with current ATT 3G lines. Nobody comfirms so far.

Either cases will be not appreciated all the international unlocked version phone users. But  Thanks for your reply.
