Not getting any Software/Security Patch Updates for my Samsung Galaxy S9+

I bought my Samsung Galaxy S9+ device sometime in October 2018. It does run  Android 8.0.0 Oreo but the security patch level is at February 2018 which is when the device is first released in to the market. I did check for the updates manually, but it just says current software is up to date while i know it's not.

What do i do to get my device to get the latest security patch update which is in December 2018.

I have contacted At&T customer support and they said they will push the update to my device within 24 hours but i did not get it. Today is the 3rd time that i contacted them and still no result.

Any suggestions?

Hello @karthik07a

We understand the importance of making sure your device is up to date with the latest software, we would be more than happy to help!

You can access our Device Support/ Galaxy S9, S9+  by selecting Software Update under the Device/ Software Issues section, and follow the steps to help get your device fully operational.

We hope this helps, and you have a great day!

I did that with no luck. I contacted the Tech support again yesterday and this time they said I'll receive a message with the link to the software and it will be recognized by my device and download the update.

That never happened.

I'm out of options here.. Is it fixable at all?

Can I visit someone in person that can fix this?

Hi, @karthik07a,

Take a look at things to know about software updates through AT&T. There's a list of requirements to update. Check it out to see why there might be issue updating the software on your Galaxy.

Have a great week!

I have.. Every requirement is fulfilled and yet no update. I have over 30GB free space on my phone. AT&T Network and bought through At&t. Haven't seen one update since I bought this phone 3 months ago.

I am having my same experience as well with my note 9. I have Android 9.0 Pie and the June security patch was supposed to be there and I bought it in March 2019, paying monthly for my device. My security patch is stuck on January 1 2019. They suppose to get the update and I tried checking for updates and I never got it. I called them many times and never received it. I do not know if I have to go to a Local At&t store to ask to see if they can able to flash the security patch up to date. I do not know if at&t takes longer to bring the patches. I was thinking it could be that other at&t devices will not come to all of it and it is slow and late. Improvements are important.Screenshot_20190728-170232_Settings.jpg

I have contacted at&t support and they don't have the knowledge to solve this or most other issues.

take it to a ubreakifix location and have them flash the update for you but make sure you backup because it will wipe your phone.

But why is this happening? should be OTA not flashing any AT&T ROM by cable, what is failing with at&t and Android phones?

That's why Apple is big, they take care of his own devices...not any carrier in the middle....

It shouldn't be happening. I've - so far - gotten every update for my S9 that's been released by AT&T. Including the Android 10 update back in March.

But, something is up with a not insignificant number of AT&T phones not getting any updates. You are not alone, and just reading through posts in this forum would tell you that.

Apparently, AT&T still can't figure it out after over two years of this happening.  There are S8s - AT&T branded and bought, and on AT&T service - that have never received any updates.
